This guide has been produced to show Alastri Products Users how to create solids from polygons within certain solid extents in Solid Lab in Rapid Reserver.
Steps:
Using Operations in Solid Lab enables you to generate solids from created / imported polygons with the specified elevation extents.
1. In the Solid Lab tab, create a new Solid Operation Set. Utilize the 'Add Operation' tab and choose 'Create Solid From Polygons.' Ensure that polygons are either created or imported.
1.1 Click the 'Run Operation' button to observe the result.
2. Include the operation 'Upper Surface' and choose the solids created in the first step.
2.1. Click the 'Run Operation' button to observe the result.
2.2. Send the solid of the second operation to the Layer.
2.3. Choose the exported layer, then select 'Tools.'
2.4. Choose 'Translate', enter the desired top RL (e.g., 500 RL), and click 'OK.'
2.5. As a result of this operation step, you will obtain a translated solid with a top RL of 500.
3. Include the operation 'Lower Surface' and choose the solids created in the first step.
3.1. Click the 'Run Operation' button to observe the result.
3.2. Send the solid of the third operation to the Layer.
3.3. Choose the exported layer, then select 'Tools.'
3.4. Choose 'Translate,' enter the desired bottom RL (e.g., 0 RL), and click 'OK.'
3.5. As a result of this operation step, you will obtain a translated solid with a bottom RL of 0.
4. Add Operation "Create Solid Below All Surfaces" : Select the translated layer from operation 2
5. Add Operation "Create Solid Above All Surfaces" : Select the translated layer from operation 3
6. Add Operation "Intersect Solids" : Intersect the result from operations 4 and 5
The result of the last operation will be a solid created within specific RLs (0 and 500 RL in this example).
