To get started with Micromine Cloud Licensing, complete the following steps:
Assign Licence Access (Admins only)
Verify Your Micromine ID
Micromine ID gives you one login for all Micromine Nexus services.
These steps guide all users in setting up a Micromine ID. Admins are automatically invited and must complete the setup. All other users will receive a Micromine ID when their Admin invites them to Nexus.
1. Check your inbox for an email from nexus@micromine.com and click the Setup password button. If you don’t see the email, click here to set up your password
2. Enter your email address in the window, click Send Verification Code, then Continue
3. Check your email again for a message from nexus@micromine.com containing your verification code. Copy the code to your clipboard
4. Paste the code into the input field, then click Verify Code and Continue
5. Enter a secure password for your Micromine ID, and click Continue
6. Once you’ve set up your password, you can log in to your home page
Assign Licence Access (Admins Only)
Licences must be assigned to users before use. This is typically done by an Admin, but any user with Manage permissions on a licence can also perform this action. More information on roles can be found here.
Each licence can be either floating or named. To identify the type of licence, open Nexus Licence Manager and check the tag displayed on the licence.
Floating Licences
Floating licences let multiple users share a set number of seats, with only that many users able to use them at the same time.
Click here for steps on managing a floating cloud licence.
Named Licences
Named licences are assigned to a single user and cannot be shared.
Click here for steps on managing a named cloud licence.
Launch application and select the licence
Launch the Alastri Hub application (minor release of version 24.2 or later) and select Log in with Micromine ID.
The Micromine ID sign-in window will open, and you’ll need to enter your Micromine ID credentials. Click Continue.
This sign-in is only required once every 90 days. If your organisation has Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled, you can sign in using SSO instead.
Please wait a few minutes while all licences available for your identity are retrieved and displayed in the Alastri Hub pick-up selector.
The company (or companies) you’ve been invited to as a user will be displayed at the top of the Alastri Hub dialog.
The licences available to you for each product will be displayed in the lower section of the Alastri Hub interface. Please note that the licence dropdown list is only shown when you have access to multiple licences for the same product.
You can view the number of available seats for each licence, as well as the users currently online using that licence.
If needed, you can borrow a licence seat for offline work by using the Extended Checkout option and specifying the borrow duration in hours.
To return the seat to the licence pool before the borrow period expires, use the Return Checkout option.
You can open the Nexus – Manage Licence application directly from Alastri Hub by going to User Info → Manage Licences. From there, you can modify licence permission settings, view usage reports, or evict users from a licence seat (if your role permits it).
