How to Recover a Project File Saved in a Version Prior to 21.3 of Alastri Software on New Machines

This guide has been produced to show Alastri Products Users how to recover a project file that previously saved in a version prior to 21.3.xx.

Nvidia made a change to graphics drivers which disabled the ability to open older project files with updated, post 2021 graphics drivers.

Fixes:

1. Using an old computer with old graphics drivers will enable the user to open the old project.

2. Searching Nvidia Driver Downloads for old graphics drivers and installing onto the user machine. Navigate to the following link: https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx and follow the provided steps to install the older graphics drivers.

Enter your Driver specifications and search for older Nvidia Driver updates. 

In the search results, locate any Nvidia Studio Driver versions released before October 2021, specifically before the release of version 21.3.xx of the software.

Note that upgrading is required again to continue the use of the most recent versions of Alastri. 

3. Upgrading existing projects

Note that upgrading will produce different results to the original one as a result of bug fixes and improvements. Also new scripts might be required.
