Use Case
When creating a schedule, certain scenarios may require changes to the known or assumed trucking parameters on a period basis, a common scenario for this would be scheduling through a period of expected inclement weather requiring a reduction in truck performance.
How to
1. Navigate to ATS Setup > Truck Types
2. Select the truck you wish to Factor and tick the box in the "Adjust Cycle Time Factor by Time" column.
A new line will become available the the Schedule Tab > Calendar Tab > Trucks
Utilise this row to begin altering the cycle time factor by the factor entered. The default factor applied is 1 therefore the factor will not have an affect on the trucking results.
(This factor will only be applied to the desired Truck type)
What is Happening
1. The "Unfactored" schedule will utilise the HI > Setup > Parameters settings "as is", unaltered from the Haul Infinity calculations (Enforce Matched Rates not used);
An unfactored example haul cycle time report can be seen below;
The Haul Infinity > Cycle Times > Parameters can be seen below
2. Apply a factor to the Cycle time, for this example we will apply 1.5. We expect to see an increase in cycle time as well as an increase to the the total number of trucks required and subsequently an increase in total truck hours.
A Factored example haul cycle time report can bee seen below using a Factor of 1.5;
Comparing the Unfactored Cycle Time report to the Factored (1.5) Cycle Time report, the total cycle time increases from 11.22min to 16.84min resulting in a factor of 1.5.
With all components of the Cycle increasing by a factor of 1.5 (except Queue time as we have an excess of available trucks and no Minimum Queue time).
