How to Add a New Truck Type in APS

This guide has been produced to provide instructions for adding a new truck type in your existing APS project. 

In every project,  there must have atleast one truck type used to calculate fleet numbers, engine hours, and fuel burn. Luckily, Alastri has a simple procedure that will allow you to add a truck in 5 easy steps!

Haul Infinity Setup

1. Go to Haul Infinity --> Setup --> Trucks

Find or import a truck definition, such as "CAT785D". More truck definitions can be found in the following link. The link has an abundance of different truck types and models to choose from and can be directly imported with a downloadable truck file. In the case that your model truck cannot be found, please contact support with the corresponding rimpull, retard, and optional fuel curve to be added to the database. Also, remove any spaces from truck name to prevent potential errors.

2.  Go back to APS --> Setup Tab --> Site Lists --> Truck Type field --> Populate from Haul Infinity

In the path above, you are now able to "Populate from Haul Infinity" the exact name truck types            that have been identified in Haul Infinity.

3. APS --> Setup --> Trucks

Under trucks, you will be able to set the color of each truck model and toggle on applicable            availability types to be added in the calendar. E.g. Planned/Unplanned Availability, Use of Availability, Operating Efficiencies, and etc.

4. APS --> Setup --> Loaders --> Loadable Trucks

Although there are no new loaders being added, we will need to make sure that the new truck model is available to load existing loader agents.  Under Loadable Trucks, match loader and trucks where applicable.

5. APS --> Setup --> Truck Assignments

Finally, if there are any rules set in the Truck Assignment step, ensure that the new added truck is selected in all applicable rules. Truck assignments is an additional rule set to determine which Trucks can operate with which Loaders from which Sources to which Destinations.
